Hello Network, Inc. was created by founder of  once-popular orkut .com -  Orkut Buyukkokten and team of of ex-Google engineers. Orkut close  its service September 30, 2014, having lost its sheen to rivals like Facebook. Our old buddy is back with new name i.e Hello Network, Inc.

Orkut was founded in 2004. The website was named after its creator. In 2008 Orkut was one of the most popular websites in India and Brazil. But in 2014 Google announced it would be closing Orkut due to facebook .

Hello is that social media based on loves. Hello is available on the web at hello.com and an app for mobile devices is also available. Hello is operated under Hello Networks, not Google. "We designed 'Hello' to help you make connections in the real world. It's a social network built on loves not likes, and I'm delighted to say 'Hello' to India once again, Hello also doesn’t share user information with with third-party apps. " said Buyukkokten, now the CEO of San Francisco-based Hello Network Inc.

"We have a custom virtual currency revenue model. We have something called Hello Coins that users on the platform can use to unlock certain features, In terms of infrastructure, a lot has changed since the era of Orkut. We have services like AWS and Google Cloud that allow platforms to scale to not just hundreds of thousands, but millions of users. " said Buyukkokten.
